| The differences in level
and gaps between the platform and the truck bed were considered to be big
obstacles to labor-saving and the nationalized operation of collecting,
delivering, and the storing of products. The differences in level are caused
by the different heights of individual truck beds and a standard platform
height. Gaps are always present between the platform and the truck. In
order to eliminate such differences and gaps an iron sheet was used. It
was, however, troublesome to install and remove such a sheet. The sheet
also could not be adjusted to the differences in levels caused by the different
heights of truck beds. It had safety problems as well since it could possibly
come off or catch an operator's hand or foot.
MAKITECH
DOCK LEVELER has successfully solved such problems and improved
the safety and speed of loading and unloading operations. It has also enabled
a forklift or pushcart to enter the truck itself, resulting in labor-saving
and rationalized operations.
